OPNsense is an open-source firewall and routing platform based on FreeBSD, created as a fork of pfSense. It features a modern user interface, weekly security updates, integrated intrusion detection with Suricata, and a REST API for automation. OPNsense is developed in the Netherlands and has a strong European community.
