Privacy Policy — Swipe Zero
Last updated: 14 September 2026. The German version is authoritative.
In short
Your photos, videos, decisions and statistics stay on your device only. Swipe Zero shows ads from Google AdMob. For this the app uses an internet connection through which Google collects data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Personalised ads are only shown with your consent where consent is required; without consent Google shows limited ads. A one-time purchase removes the ads.

What stays on your device
- Photos and videos: With your permission the app reads information about your media library (such as size, date taken, folder) and shows thumbnails. Files are never copied, uploaded or given to third parties or advertising partners.
- Decisions, daily goal and statistics are kept in an app-internal database.
- Duplicates, similar photos and burst shots: checksums (SHA-256), image fingerprints, mean brightness and sharpness values are computed on the device and never leave it.
- Settings are stored locally.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
According to Google, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares your IP address (which may be used to estimate the device's approximate location), interactions with ads and the app, diagnostic information and device and account identifiers (for example the advertising ID) for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Data is encrypted in transit. Source: developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy/play-data-disclosure.
Transfers outside the EU: Google may transfer data to the USA; according to Google this is based on adequacy decisions and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks).
Ads appear only at the end of the home screen and the statistics screen, never while sorting or deleting.
Consent
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks on launch, through Google's consent dialog (User Messaging Platform), whether personalised ads are allowed. Without consent no personalised ads are requested. Google may then show limited ads: not personalised, but your IP address is still used to deliver them, and on-device storage is used at most for fraud detection (support.google.com/admob/answer/10105530). You can change your choice at any time in Settings under "Privacy options for ads". You can reset or delete the advertising ID in Android's settings.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG) for storing and reading information on the device and for personalised advertising.
Purchase "Remove ads"
The ads can be removed with a one-time, optional purchase through Google Play. Google Play handles the purchase and payment (Google Ireland Limited, policies.google.com/privacy); the app never sees payment data. It only asks Google Play whether the purchase exists and stores that result locally. After the purchase the app no longer starts the Google Mobile Ads SDK and no longer asks for ad consent.
Permissions
- Photos and videos (on older Android versions: read storage): needed to show your media library. You can also grant access to selected photos only.
- Internet and network state: only for ads, the consent dialog and the "Remove ads" purchase.
- Google Play billing: only for the "Remove ads" purchase.
- Advertising ID and the system's advertising APIs (Privacy Sandbox: advertising ID, attribution, topics): requested by the Google SDK.
Swipe Zero does not request location, contacts or notifications.
Deleting media
Swipe Zero never deletes on its own. Media marked for deletion are only removed after you confirm in Android's system dialog; by default they go to your gallery's trash for about 30 days.
Retention
Locally stored data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Data collected by Google through the ads SDK is subject to Google's retention periods (policies.google.com/privacy).
Your rights
No personal data reaches the app's developer; you control all app data on your device. For advertising data, contact Google (policies.google.com/privacy). You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Children
Swipe Zero is not directed at children.
Changes
If the app changes in a way that requires this policy to change, the new version appears here with a new date and in the app with the next update.
